He did it!

This past week Javi got the news that he landed the finance internship he has been interviewing for! He will be starting soon with Sherwin Williams in Cleveland! We are very excited and so glad he got an internship that is finance related, we are hoping it will be a great experience for him! So to celebrate I made him a cake! It turned out to be absolutely delicious, if I do say so myself! This cinnamon roll cake I dare say is better than cinnabon, it melts in your mouth and it was a piece of cake! ;) So I thought I would share the recipe.

Cinnamon Roll Cake

Cake Batter
3 Cups Flour
1/4 Tsp. Salt
1 Cup Sugar
4 Tsp. Baking Powder
1 1/2 Cups Milk (I used 1%)
2 Eggs
2 Tsp. Vanilla
1/2 Cup Melted Butter

Cinnamon Swirl
1 Cup Softened Butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp. Flour
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon

Glaze
2 Cups Powdered Sugar
5 Tbsp. Milk
1 Tsp. Vanilla

Preheat your oven to 350. For the cake batter, mix everything together except the melted butter - slowly stir it in after everything else is thoroughly mixed. Pour the cake batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Then mix all of the ingredients for the cinnamon swirl until completely blended (its easier if the butter is very soft, it would have been incredibly difficult to mix without my mixer!). Take the cinnamon swirl and drop it evenly (I dropped it in little spoon-fulls) over the cake batter and swirl it into the cake batter with a knife. Bake for 28-32 minutes. While the cake is still warm, pour the glaze over the top and enjoy!
